As the much-anticipated Unified Tertiary and Matriculations Examinations
(UTME) has come and gone, it remains to be seen, if the proportions of
students, who're eagerly hoping and full of optimism, are truly waiting
for the manifestation of the product of their hardwork or just engulfed
in mirage and chasing the path of shadow.
For some, April 12, 2014 will always have a special place in their
hearts whereas others would be left ruing the opportunities missed when
the results are eventually released a week later.
While serious and academic-minded candidates spent a great deal of their
time preparing for the exam, others cared less about their fate in
anticipation of the aftermath of the all-important one-day examination.
JAMB had warned the potential seaters not to involve themselves in any
act capable of bringing the standard of the exam to an unrespectable
level, but it was disappointing, if not shocking,to witness some dubious
behavioural patterns amongst the candidates with crimes ranging from
examination malpractice to impersonation being witnessed across the exam
centres.
The reward for hardwork is certainly success. So the humanly effort made
by the students who gave preparation their full attention will not be
swept under the carpet. The road to success is always narrow and does
not require one to enjoy unnecessary leisure periods!!
